Ayesha Khan’s Khuda Mera Bhi Hai will highlight a social taboo

Gone are the days when family dramas and in-law issues were the focus of a producer while making a serial. This is an age where taboos like rape and child abuse are being highlighted. It is in this context that Khuda Mera Bhi Hai, a drama starring Ayesha Khan, will shed light on a woman’s experience of giving birth to a transgender and the implications that entails.

The teaser opens up to a worried mother played by Ayesha telling her husband that while he might be confused about keeping the baby, she’s not. She then tells him that she thought having the child would strengthen their relationship but was left disappointed.

Post this, the woman braves taunts from her mother-in-law. The trailer concludes with another powerful scene.

Even though the trailer does not give much away, the drama is highly anticipated as it will highlight one of society’s most pressing issues, that of accepting a transgender.

There’s no doubt that the production will open many eyes to a matter which deals with such intricacies. The drama also features Saba Hameed, Ayesha Khan, Imran Ashraf, Maryam Saleem, Furqan Qureshi, Hira Tareen and many more. The show is produced by Sana Shahnwaz.
