While fans are looking forward to the nationwide release on Baahubali 2, there are a few issues the makers are being forced to address amidst all the excitement.
The most recent controversy being the Baahubali 2 ban in Karnataka. Owing to Sathyaraj aka Kattappa controversial statement against the Kannadigas, 2000 organisations led by Vatal Nagaraj have decided to boycott the movie. They insisted, the film would be allowed to release only if Sathyaraj apologised. SS Rajamouli made an appeal to all the Kannadigas in a special video shared on social media. He requested the Kannadigas to not let the movie be affected because what someday said nine years ago. As per latest updates, Sathyaraj has apologised for his statements. Now time will if the movie will finally release in Karnataka.
The movie is also facing trouble in Tamil Nadu – MS Sharavanan from Sri Green productions had approached ACE Media for a loan. He assured the company that the amount would be returned with an additional Rs 10 lakhs. Now as per enquiries by ACE media, it has been found out that Sri Green productions has no intention of returning the loan. Furthermore, they are now releasing the film in the name of third parties. Hence ACE media has filed a petition ordering a stay on the distribution, theatrical and release on Baahubali 2.
The movie is also facing issues in Kerala – Gurumedia, a leading distributing company has demanded a higher share of the revenue from the 1st and 2nd week of its release form Multiplex Operators. Multiplex operators refused to give into these new terms. Reportedly the issue is being sorted out.

The movie’s popularity soared after the first part’s successful release. It became a brand, everyone wanted to be associated with. In fact as per reports on Firstpost, the Karnataka controversy seems to be a case of trade disagreement. That may have been the real reaosn for re-kindling this nine year old issue. As for the issue in Tamil Issue, the judge won’t be ordering a stay on the release of the film but has asked for a response from the accused regarding the allegations.
