Bajirao Mastani BANNED in Pakistan?
The Sanjay Leela Bhansali magnum opus has been facing so many problems! Before the film was even started, it was the casting that held the film back for years. And now that the film is ready, it faced the wrath of the Peshwas, and later Shiv Sena, claiming that the film insults the historic warrior Rao, the Maratha history and its culture…
Where Shiv Sena protested for the film to be banned in Maharasthra, a group of people from the original place of the Peshwas (near Pune) burned SLB’s posters!
However, one day from the film’s release, SLB still cannot sleep in peace. Apparently, the film will not be allowed to be released in Pakistan!
That’s right! Mobasher Hasan, Chairman of CBFC claims that: “Firstly, the film is in Hindi and our ordinance does not allow Hindi films to be screened. Secondly, it is a historical drama that is indirectly against Islam and Muslims.”
As you may know, or not know, Bajirao was a Hindu, and Mastani was a Muslim. The film focuses on their love story and according to Hasan, the film has anti-Islam properties and therefore cannot be screened in Pakistan…
Oh well… We think everybody just needs to chill and appreciate some art and talent! It’s just a movie!
