OS ANGELES, Nov 10 — The upcoming Paramount Pictures film based on Robert Carlock’s “The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan” is set for a March 4 start, reports Deadline.
The currently untitled comedy will focus on Kim Barker — played by Tina Fey — who was the Chicago Tribune’s South Asia bureau chief from 2004-09. The story sees Barker’s trials as a female reporter in a male-dominated journalism world in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Margot Robbie and Martin Freeman join Fey in leading roles, with Billy Bob Thornton, Alfred Molina, Sheila Vand and Nicholas Braun in supporting roles.
