Noor Bukhari files for divorce from husband Wali Hamid Ali Khan

LAHORE .: It seems to be that Pakistani celebrities have been running out of luck when it comes to love.

In what has become the third such incident during the month of March, Lollywood actor Noor Bukhari has filed for divorce from her fourth husband, Raga Boys singer Wali Hamid Ali Khan.

Wali, who hails from the Patiala gharana, and Noor got married about three years ago, during the shoot of Ishq Positive. Noor and Wali were the lead pair of the film. Soon, however, the relationship took a turn for the worse and the divorce has been long overdue. In fact, just last year, Noor’s mother had filed a police report claiming that Wali had been torturing her daughter.

Frequent fighting led the couple to call it a day and according to rumours, the duo has been living separately for quite some time now.  Wali is currently visiting Karachi for work while Noor is still in Lahore. The latter made the divorce application in a local court in Lahore and has also asked the authorities to go through Wali’s Facebook account as part of the proceedings.

“Despite my best efforts, I cannot continue with this marriage. Nonetheless, I will state that Wali is a good man and perhaps it’s our bad luck that we cannot live our lives together anymore,” Noor told The Express Tribune. “I don’t know what will happen in the future but I have decided to take a divorce now. At this tense time, I request that no one disturbs me.”

According to sources, Wali’s father Ustad Hamid Ali Khan and brothers were never too keen on his relationship with Noor. “In fact, Hamid has been suffering with health issues and additional stress came on since the two got married,” the source revealed. Apparently, Hamid had wanted Wali to marry a relative from the US but the latter did not agree.

Wali, on the other hand, was apparently unaware of Noor’s decision up until last night. “I’ve been busy with work and last night, it came to my knowledge that she has applied for a divorce? I will not oblige,” said the singer. “Noor is a great lady and my wife – I will not divorce her. I think some clashes occur in every marriage but divorce is no solution to that. I am positive our marriage will continue.”

As stated earlier, Noor and Wali are the third Lollywood couple to part this month. Just a few days ago, actor Veena Malik applied for a khulla from her husband Asad Khattak, while another starlet Jana Malik is also seeking a divorce from her husband Nouman Javaid.

This is Wali’s first marriage. Noor has been married to a Dubai-based businessman (2008), director Farooq Mangal (2010) and Aun Chaudhry (2012) previously.
