Rahat leaves for India to promote Salman Khan-starrer ‘Sultan’

LAHORE: Widely acclaimed Pakistani classical singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has reached India upon an invitation by Bollywood heartthrob Salman Khan to take part in the promotion of his upcoming flick Sultan.

Starring Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma in lead roles, the movie is due to release this Eid. The king of melody has recorded a song for the movie, Jag Ghoomia, which has been quite popular among music and movie circles prior to the release of film.

It should be noted here that Bollywood’s most wanted bachelor is also counted among Rahat’s fans and he has acknowledged this fact time and again. Of late, Rahat’s songs have played a vital role in making Salman’s movies mega hits.

When Salman made a comeback with Dabang, following a prolonged bad phase in industry, he gave its credit to Rahat’s song Tere Mast Mast do Nain. Perhaps, this is the reason that Salman voted for Rahat, while the entire team of Sultan wanted Arijit Singh to sing the song Jag Ghoomia. He believed that no one can sing this song better than Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

Talking to ARY News before leaving for India, the famed classical singer said that he will take part in the music launch and promotion campaign of Sultan as wished by Salman Khan. He went on to say that he will be working out some new musical projects during his cross-border visit.

Rahat vowed to share details of these projects in a special interview with Umar Sharif and Wasim Badami on ARY News this Eid.
