Showbiz Meets Cricket at PSL Launching

Many die heart cricket fans would agree with me that combination of glamour and cricket would be as tastier as the combination of hot chocolate and ice cream.

You are a hard core cricket fan and want glamour in then join the series of Pakistan Super League organized by the Pakistan Cricket Board. The official unveiling of this big mega event took place at Expo Centre Lahore where the event was made starry and glamorous when stars like Ali Zafar, Ali Azmat, Goher Mumtaz, Juggun Kazim, Mahira Khan, Ayesha Omar and Humaima Malick made an appearance on the green carpet along with the Pakistani cricket team stars like Waseem Akram, Shahid Afridi and Ramiz Raja.

The PSL is a franchise based T20 cricket tournament set to take place in February 2016. With top cricket players like Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Grant Elliot, Lasith Malinga, Kieron Pollard and Luke Wright on the PSL draft roster the tournament has already started to create a buzz in cricketing circles all across the globe. According to newspaper reports around 10 parties have shown active interest in buying the five teams up for grabs in the first edition of the PSL.

There were two hit things about the unveiling ceremony. One was the performance by Strings and the other was Zafar who rocked the floor with the unveiling of the official anthem of PSL. Yes you have heard it right. Zafar has written composed and sung the official anthem of PSL “Khel Kay Dekha Dainge Aj” and that was the main hit point of the ceremony beside the logo launch.

In a message to the fans Zafar talked about his experience of creating and singing the official PSL anthem, “This is a song that is really close to my heart because I have been an ardent cricket fan all my life. PSL will be a great collective platform for entertainment and cricket alike.”

Another interesting part of the event was the two special corners that were dedicated to the socialites celebrities and the cricketers. One was interview with Kazim for the electronic broadcasting and the other was the bloggers corner where you were interviewed there and then and was uploaded live on social media.

Whether you are a cricket fan or a hard core music lover the ceremony catered both the categories. I am sure like me all of you are also looking forward to this PSL mania.
