According to a Indian media report, former Pakistani singer Adnan Sami responds to those who criticize the Indian government for his Padma Shri award, saying, “If a handful of people do not like me, it doesn’t matter, It doesn’t matter to me ‘.
“More than a billion people have praised the Indian government’s decision and they are happy that I have been honored with the Padma Shri award,” he said.
The singer said, “Most importantly, the field in which I have been given an award is art and music, and after that award, my responsibilities for music fans and my country India have increased.”
“This award is very valuable to me and I am very happy for it,” said Adnan Sami.
He said, ‘I will now try to do better in my field.’
The singer said, “Since being a Padma Shri, being an ordinary Indian citizen, I have now been given many other responsibilities that I will fulfill in full.”
It may be recalled that on the occasion of the 71st Republic Day in India, 118 people were honored with the Padma Shri Award for their service in various fields and those included former Pakistani singer Adnan Sami.
Many Indian artists and politicians have been criticizing Adnan Sami for receiving the Padma Shri award.
All of them say that there are more singers than Adnan Sami who deserve the Padma Shri award. Adnan Sami has been given the award by other singers.
