1. Katrina Kaif was born on 16 July 1983 in Hong Kong. Her real name is not Katrina Kaif but Katrina Turquotte.
However, the surname Kaif is not fake. Her father’s name was Mohammad Kaif, and when she entered Bollywood, she chose to use his last name instead of her mother’s.
Her father, Mohammad Kaif, was a Kashmiri, and he had married a British woman named Suzanne Turquotte. After their divorce, Katrina started using her mother’s last name, but later switched to her father’s surname when she entered the film industry.
It is said that she chose the name Katrina Kaif because it was easier to remember and sounded more attractive for fans.
2. Most people know Katrina from the movie Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya, but not many know that she started modeling at just 14 years old. She first walked the ramp in Hawaii for a jewelry brand.
3. Her first film was not Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya but Boom, which released in 2003 when she was only 18. The movie also featured Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan.
