A new controversy has erupted after the lawyers held talks with TikToker Rajab Butt over the situation that arose outside the City Court after he was beaten up. TikToker Rajab Butt’s lawyer and others have filed petitions with the Sindh Bar Council.
Rajab Butt’s lawyer, Barrister Mian Ali Ashfaq, filed a petition against Riaz Solangi and Abdul Fattah Chandio in the Sindh Bar Council, while 15 lawyers have also filed a petition with the Sindh Bar Council against the attacks on the lawyers in the City Court.
The petition has taken the position that the reputation of the lawyers is being affected by the bargaining with the lawyers in the City Court, the silence of the Sindh Bar Council is harming the institution, and it is very important to restore the reputation of the judicial system and the bar.
The petition filed with the Sindh Bar Council has said that an investigation should be conducted into the incident that took place in the City Court on December 29.
Barrister Mian Ali Ashfaq said that the torture on Rajab Butt was against the requirements of justice, Riaz Solangi and Abdul Fattah Chandio have acted against the law and the tradition of the bar.
He has requested that action be taken against Riaz Solangi, Fateh Chandio and other lawyers.
It should be noted that based on the incident that took place outside the Karachi City Court, the Punjab Bar Council has suspended the practicing license of Rajab Butt’s lawyer Mian Ali Ashfaq.
The Punjab Bar Council has sent the case of Mian Ali Ashfaq to the disciplinary committee for permanent cancellation of his license.
