The first accused in the case of harassing the 13-year-old daughter of famous Indian actor Akshay Kumar while playing an online game has been arrested.
According to Indian media, the incident came to light in October last year when the actor had said at an event that an unknown user asked his daughter to send inappropriate pictures while playing the game. The girl immediately stopped playing and informed her mother. The actor had further said that such incidents can push children towards blackmailing and other crimes, so awareness in the digital world is very important.
According to Indian media, after the matter came to light, the Cyber Cell had started an investigation and the accused was identified and arrested using modern technical methods.
According to authorities, the accused is being interrogated to find out whether he has also subjected other children to online harassment.
Indian media say that since Akshay Kumar spoke out about the incident, the case is also being presented as a cyber awareness campaign in educational institutions to educate students about online dangers and safe practices.
