Indian actress Swara Bhasker, who is married to Muslim politician Fahad Ahmad, strongly reacted to hateful comments made by Hindu extremists about her husband.
According to Indian media, a social media user mocked Fahad Ahmad by calling him names like chapri and Dongri street guy. The comment was made while criticizing Swara and Fahad’s appearance on a reality show called Pati Patni Aur Panga. The user also compared them to actress Parineeti Chopra and her husband.
Swara Bhasker responded strongly to the insulting words used for her husband. She shared a screenshot of the troll’s comment and said that such remarks were unacceptable.
She explained that chapri is a caste-based insult used against a particular community. Swara called out the user for showing caste and class discrimination and added that being from Dongri or any street is not something to be ashamed of.
Swara said that the comment was full of caste and class prejudice and this kind of language should not be accepted. She also used the hashtag casteistAlert in her post.
It is important to note that Swara Bhasker married her close friend and Muslim politician Fahad Ahmad on February 16, 2023. Since then, she has often faced harsh criticism and online trolling from Hindu extremists.
