Ahmed Shehzad disappointed at being overlooked in PSL 11

Lahore (February 12, 2026): Pakistan cricket team’s opening batsman Ahmed Shehzad got emotional while talking about his long absence from cricket and not being included in the PSL during a show.

The 34-year-old cricketer expressed his pain on a private TV channel and said that he feels very sad when he sees players of his age still playing.

Ahmed Shehzad said that he still wants to play and is happy when his former teammates perform well, but he is heartbroken when he sees his current situation.

He said emotionally, “Yes, I get emotional, I feel a lot of pain, I still want to play cricket,” Ahmed Shehzad added that he gave 18 years of his life to this game, but now suddenly seeing everything getting out of hand often brings tears to his eyes.

Ahmed Shehzad became most emotional when he mentioned his 9-year-old son. He said that his son talks to him about cricket at night while sleeping and he remembers that his father played cricket.

Ahmed Shehzad said that the most painful thing is when his son asks if he will be able to remember him as a cricketer.

It should be noted that Ahmed Shehzad had announced his retirement from the PSL in 2023, but recently he severely criticized the PCB for including his name in the PSL 10 draft and called it a mere publicity stunt. Ahmed Shehzad has played 45 matches in 5 seasons of the PSL from 2016 to 2021 and has scored 1077 runs.
