Famous Pakistani actress Alizeh Shah, who is often surrounded by controversies, has recently spoken about the dark side of the showbiz industry and made some shocking revelations.
Alizeh started her acting career in 2018 with the drama Ishq Tamasha and won the Hum TV Award for Best TV Sensation. In 2019, her drama Ehd-e-Wafa became a big breakthrough for her, and her on-screen chemistry with Ahad Raza Mir was loved by fans.
After Ehd-e-Wafa, she played lead roles in several dramas like Daldal, Hoor Pari, Jo Tu Chahey, Mera Dil Mera Dushman, Tanaa Banaa, and Bebasi. With back-to-back successful projects, she was quickly rising in fame and success. But suddenly, she started appearing less on TV and more on Instagram, where she often faced criticism for her bold photos and videos.
Recently, in an interview, Alizeh strongly criticized the current environment in the industry. She shared that one reason for stepping back from dramas is the delay in payments and bad treatment, which has become unbearable for her.
She also claimed that some married men in the industry behave inappropriately with female artists and often cross limits. Alizeh said people often criticize her dressing, but she never tried to get work through the wrong means.
She supported the statement made by well-known writer and actor Syed Muhammad Ahmed, who also said that actors are not paid on time in the industry.
According to Alizeh, she has had to wait 3 to 4 months for her payments, and even after following up many times, the checks are not cleared. She added that she will not work in a place where she is not respected or paid on time for her hard work.
These statements from Alizeh come at a time when not only Syed Muhammad Ahmed but also many other actors and technical staff have spoken up about the lack of professionalism in the Pakistani showbiz industry. Delayed payments, rude behavior, and disrespect towards female artists have become a regular issue.
