The bodies of Hollywood director and actor Rob Reiner and his wife, Michelle Reiner, have been found in their home.
According to Los Angeles police, an investigation has been launched into the possible murder of the couple. Law enforcement sources told the AP news agency that initial investigations indicate that both suffered stab wounds.
Fire department officials say they arrived at the scene at around 3:30 p.m. on December 14 after a request for medical help, and found Rob Reiner, 78, and Michelle Reiner, 68, dead.
According to media reports, Rob Reiner was a resident of New York and was also known for his political activities. He participated in advertisements against George W. Bush in the 2004 presidential election and also supported Democratic candidates John Kerry, Al Gore and Hillary Clinton.
Reiner and Michelle tied the knot in 1989 and have three children. Rob Reiner’s previous wife was the famous actress and director Penny Marshall, to whom he was married from 1971 to 1981, and he adopted her daughter, Tracy Reiner.
Rob Reiner has directed the famous Hollywood films “When Harry Met Sally” and “This Is Spinal Tap”.
He also appeared in the CBS comedy “All in the Family” in the 1970s. His other famous films include “The Princess Bride” and “Stand by Me”.
