Sonakshi Sinha’s husband Zaheer Iqbal says the best biryani is made at the homes of Salman Khan and Huma Qureshi.
On National Biryani Day, Zaheer shared his deep love for biryani, saying that just like Chinese food is part of daily life in China, biryani is a regular part of his own life. “For me, biryani isn’t a special dish — it’s just food. For the past 35 years, we’ve had biryani at home every Friday. It’s become a tradition,” he said.
He praised his longtime cook Usha for making personalized biryani based on his taste, mood, and the occasion — whether it’s rich and spicy on Eid or light and protein-packed when he’s on a diet. He also recalled an unforgettable biryani he once had in Brighton, UK, which he still considers the best biryani he’s eaten abroad.
Zaheer admitted he’s never tried to cook biryani himself, and neither has Sonakshi, joking that it requires patience, skill, and time — “something best left to experts.”
Speaking of Bollywood biryani parties, Zaheer declared, “Everyone knows the best biryani in the film industry is served at Galaxy (Salman Khan’s house), but for me, it’s a tough competition between Huma Qureshi’s and Saqib Saleem’s home.”
He concluded by saying that if he ever hosted a biryani party, it would include all the people closest to him — Huma, Saqib, Ayush Sharma, and the entire Khan family.
