A local court in Lahore has discharged actress Samer Rana in the case of abuse and assault of a housemaid and ordered her immediate release
According to reports an important development came in the case of the 14 year old maid when the court removed actress Samer Rana from the case
Judicial magistrate Zaib Shehzad Cheema also ordered her immediate release
The court directed action against the investigation officer for not presenting the accused before the court within 24 hours of arrest
During today’s hearing police requested physical remand of the accused but the court rejected the request and said that remand cannot be given unnecessarily
The court said that after reviewing the record no evidence was found against Samer Rana and on the basis of lack of proof she is discharged from the case
