Daily consumption of quinoa juice helps in preventing blood pressure and acidity

A recent study has shown that regular consumption of quinoa juice not only improves the activity of thousands of genes within immune cells that help control blood pressure, reduce inflammation and regulate the body’s sugar processing mechanism, but also improves long-term heart health.

According to the medical website, the study examined data from adults who drank 500 ml of pure pasteurized quinoa juice daily.

Experts found that after just two months, the activity of many genes associated with inflammation and high blood pressure in such people decreased. These genes include NAMPT, IL6, IL1B and NLRP3, which are usually activated during times of stress on the body.

In addition, another gene, SGK1, which affects the kidneys’ ability to retain sodium (salt), was also less active.

According to experts, such changes are consistent with the fact that drinking fresh juices of quinoa and other similar fruits daily can lower blood pressure in young people.

Experts said that natural compounds found in quinoa and other similar fruits, especially a component called hesperidin, which is known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, can help control high blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels.

A previous systematic review of 15 studies with 639 participants found that regular consumption of quinoa and other similar fruit juices reduced insulin resistance and blood cholesterol levels.

Insulin resistance is a key feature of prediabetes, and high cholesterol is an established risk factor for heart disease.

Similarly, another analysis of overweight and obese adults found that daily consumption of quinoa juice for several weeks resulted in small decreases in systolic blood pressure and increases in high-density lipoprotein (HDL), often called good cholesterol.

Although these changes are modest, even modest improvements in blood pressure and cholesterol can make a meaningful difference if maintained over many years.
