There is a possibility that former US President Donald Trump will visit Pakistan in September this year. Local media reports, quoting sources familiar with the matter, have shared news about Trump’s possible visit to Pakistan.
If confirmed, this will be the first visit by any US president to Pakistan in almost two decades.
Senior Pakistani journalist Azaz Syed also shared on the microblogging platform X that Trump will visit Pakistan on 18 September.
However, Indian media called this fake news and claimed that Trump will be visiting the UK from 17 to 19 September on the invitation of King Charles. The visit is expected to take place at Windsor Castle.
Later, Azaz Syed posted an update saying that Trump will visit Pakistan but the date has not been finalized yet. Discussions are still going on. Because of security concerns, the final date of the visit will be announced at the last moment.
The last time a US president visited Pakistan was in 2006, when President George W. Bush came to Islamabad for a two-day visit. After that, US presidents continued to visit neighboring India regularly, but no visit was made to Pakistan.
On the other hand, when Pakistan’s Foreign Office was asked about Trump’s expected visit, the spokesperson said they had no information about it.
