Emily in Paris assistant director dies during shooting

Diego Borella, the assistant director of the popular Netflix series Emily in Paris, passed away suddenly during shooting.

According to Italian media, the incident happened in Venice, Italy, where the recording of the fifth season was taking place.

The 47-year-old collapsed while preparing for filming at Hotel Danieli. Medical staff tried to save him, but he could not survive.

Paramount Television Studios, which produces the series for Netflix, confirmed his death and expressed deep sorrow over the loss of a valuable member of their production family. They also shared their sympathy with his family and friends.

Reports say that after his passing, the shooting was temporarily stopped. The fifth season started filming on August 15 in Venice and was supposed to finish by August 25. It is expected that work will continue after his funeral.

Emily in Paris is a romantic comedy drama that was first released in 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic. The new season is planned to be released later this year.
