Famous Indian actress reveals she was forced to dance for money

Indian actress Jaya Bhattacharya, who is often seen in negative roles on TV screens, has for the first time revealed such tragic aspects of her past that have shocked and saddened her fans.

According to Jaya Bhattacharya, she faced physical and mental torture at the hands of her own mother in her childhood, and was forcibly pushed into the world of showbiz for the sake of money.

Jaya played the role of “Pale” in the famous drama “Kiyunka Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi”. She said that her real life was completely different from the glitter of the screen. The entire burden of her parents’ discord at home was put on her. In a recent interview, she said that her mother herself was carrying the burden of unfulfilled dreams, which is why she used to be strict with her daughter.

According to the actress, she was beaten with a hammer, tongs, a roller and shoes, to the point that she often had bruises on her body. She says that all this broke her from within and made her extremely stubborn. She said that her mother not only used to abuse her at home but also scolded and shamed her in front of others.

Jaya Bhattacharya revealed that she never intended to enter showbiz, but her family made her stand in front of the camera for money. She was not only forced to dance but was also sometimes instructed to play male roles. The actress also said that she faced casting couch and exploitative attitudes in the industry. A friend of a director who was associated with the mafia started visiting her house repeatedly and kept offering to take her to Mumbai, which she rejected.

Recounting another difficult turn in her life, Jaya said that when her father retired in the ninth grade, her mother became severely depressed over dowry worries and arguments started increasing in the house. Fed up with this environment, she left home and went to Haridwar. The actress said that she was very unhappy with her mother, but when her mother fell ill, she spent all her savings on her treatment, despite the fact that her mother always wanted a son instead of a daughter.

In 2000, when Jaya got a role in Ekta Kapoor’s play “Kiyunka Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi”, a new turn came in her life, but even this fame could not give her the respect she deserved. She said that she was the lowest paid actress on the set, and because of her negative character, people actually started considering her bad.

Recalling an incident, she said that once in a restaurant, a fan pushed her and called her a “dirty woman” and advised pregnant Smriti Irani to stay away from her.

The actress says that despite all the difficulties, she did not give up and continued her journey. She recently appeared in the popular Netflix series “Delhi Crime Season 3”, where her performance was highly praised.
