Pakistani actor Fawad Khan and Indian actress Vaani Kapoor’s Bollywood film Abeer Galal is finally moving towards release, and the date has now been announced.
Fawad Khan, one of the biggest names in Pakistan’s showbiz industry, has always been careful in choosing his projects. He rose to fame with the drama Humsafar and later worked in several dramas and a few films, including Pakistan’s highest-grossing movie The Legend of Maula Jatt. He also appeared in Bollywood, but his career there stopped when the Indian government banned Pakistani artists.
This ban came after his appearance in the film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Nine years later, he was set to return with Vaani Kapoor in the film Abeer Galal, but in May, tensions between Pakistan and India delayed its release.
During this time, Fawad Khan faced criticism for not openly speaking against India, while Vaani Kapoor deleted all her pictures with him.
Now, there is a positive update. Reports say the film’s title has been slightly changed to Abeer Galal, and it will be released worldwide like Sardar Ji 3, but not in India. The film will hit cinemas on August 29, 2025.
This is good news for Fawad Khan, who has already completed the film and is now busy promoting it internationally.
