Firdous Jamal’s controversial statement on music and Islam goes viral

Senior Pakistani actor Firdous Jamal’s recent comments about music and Islam have gone viral. Firdous Jamal, who has acted in famous dramas like Waris, Pyare Afzal, Khuda Aur Mohabbat, and Manchalay Ka Sauda, recently shared his views in a podcast about music and religion.

He said that even though people criticize music, it is the language of the skies and will be present in paradise to bring peace to the soul.

Criticizing social behavior, he said that we enjoy music, but when someone becomes a singer, we look down on them and criticize them.

He called this attitude hypocritical and said that naats, azan, and Quranic recitation also use specific melodies and tones, which make them more impactful. According to him, melody is the real beauty.

Firdous Jamal also said that talking about music is often seen as a taboo in our society, even though it has both beauty and spirituality. However, many people on social media are criticizing the actor for connecting music with Islam.
