In Quetta, the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Saturday rejected the police request to extend the physical remand of two accused, including tribal leader Sardar Sher Baz Satakzai, in the Degari honour killing case. The court ordered that the case be transferred to the trial court.
After completing their 10-day remand, the accused Sardar Sher Baz Satakzai and co-accused Muhammad Bashir were presented before the ATC. Police requested more remand time, but Judge Muhammad Ali Mobeen rejected the request.
After the case was transferred, Judicial Magistrate Saifullah Tareen approved a two-day remand for the accused.
This case is related to the killing of a man and a woman named Bano Bibi in Degari area of Quetta district about two weeks ago.
The main suspect, Jalal Khan, who is the brother of the murdered woman, is still on the run.
