Pakistan’s world-renowned singers Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Atif Aslam are known worldwide not only for their timeless songs but also for their brilliant live performances.
The superhit songs sung for Indian films further increased their popularity, while their presence at private events and big weddings has always been in the news.
Both artists have also performed at the weddings of influential figures like Malik Riaz in Pakistan and Mukesh Ambani in India, where their fees have always been the center of attention.
Last week, the wedding of Faryal Talpur’s daughter Ayesha Talpur gained a lot of attention on social media, where Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Atif Aslam performed their vocal magic. According to informed sources, both the singers performed their popular songs on the special request of the distinguished guests present at the ceremony and made the gathering memorable.
Now, senior anchorperson Naeem Hanif has recently made interesting revelations about the fees paid by these famous singers for performing at events. According to him, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan charges around Rs 12.5 million for performing at a wedding in Pakistan. If he performs in another city, this amount increases further, while in the case of performances abroad, his fee almost doubles.
Naeem Hanif said that he did not perform at weddings in the past. However, about seven years ago, Malik Riaz offered him to sing at his grandson’s wedding. Atif Aslam apparently asked for Rs 15 million to refuse, but Malik Riaz paid that amount. According to Naeem Hanif, he also saw the bill for this payment. After this incident, Atif Aslam started performing at weddings and now he charges around Rs 20 to 25 million per performance.
He further said that renowned Sufi singer Abida Parveen usually does not perform due to health issues, but if she attends an event, her remuneration does not decrease and she receives about sixty to seventy thousand dollars. According to Naeem Hanif’s estimate, the total amount spent on the singers’ performances in the said wedding was around seventy million rupees.
These revelations once again highlight the fact that Pakistan’s top singers are not only ruling the music world but even a glimpse of them at weddings and private functions is worth crores of rupees.
