Humaira had 4 lakh rupees in her bank account

The investigation team has received details of late actress Humaira Asghar’s bank account. It has been found that she had more than 398,000 rupees in her current account.

Police sources said that Humaira used a private bank’s current account, and she also had a credit card from another bank.

Investigators added that she used her ATM card to withdraw small amounts like 25,000 or 50,000 rupees, which shows she was not facing financial problems. Authorities have also contacted other banks to check for more accounts in her name.

Two ID cards found

It was also discovered that two ID cards were found in her apartment — one original and one colored copy. The copy showed a different (younger) birth year, but all her official documents had her correct date of birth.

Police have also contacted hospitals and labs in District South to collect her medical history.

Officials said that the exact cause of death will only be confirmed after the postmortem report is received.

Last contacts

Investigators said they have recovered complete data from Humaira’s mobile phone, but no important clue has been found yet. On 7 October 2024, she tried calling 14 people, but none of them answered. One of those people is a director from the showbiz industry who is currently in Islamabad. Police have contacted him.

From her flat, police found 3 mobile phones, a tablet, a diary, and various documents. The tablet is damaged and hasn’t been opened yet. She had 3 SIM cards that were used in the phones.

According to the investigation team, two of the phones did not have any password, and in the diary, a password for the third phone and the tablet was written. Her phones contained 2,215 contacts. Records show that in early October 2024, she also tried to contact her brother.

More investigation

It has been found that Humaira was last seen outside her apartment on 28 September. She was upset because she wasn’t getting work. Most of the messages on her phone were requests for job opportunities.

Police believe that at the time of her death, she was washing clothes. This is because clothes soaked in detergent were found in the bathroom tub. The clothes had rotted and torn after being there for months.

Investigators think she may have come out of the bathroom for something and accidentally fell after hitting something. There was no food found in her kitchen either.

Why didn’t anyone notice the smell?

Police have started collecting details about this too. In November, people living on the second floor noticed a smell from her flat and told the building guard. When the guard called the owners, they said they didn’t smell anything, so the issue was ignored.

It should be remembered that Humaira Asghar’s 9-month-old body was found on 8 July in her flat located on the third floor of a residential building in Defence Phase 6, Ittehad Commercial, Karachi.
