Kangana Accuses Diljit of Promoting a Personal Agenda
Kangana Ranaut has targeted Diljit Dosanjh, accusing him of promoting a personal agenda.
The actress-turned-politician reacted strongly to Diljit casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his film. Kangana stated that “The nation and country come first, everything else comes after. Our passion and loyalty should first and foremost be for the nation.”
She questioned, “When the entire nation is moving in one direction, why is Diljit Dosanjh choosing his own path?”
Kangana emphasized the need to unite everyone under a single ideology, saying that “India’s soldiers and politicians are all aligned with the national ideology, but some individuals like Diljit are driven by personal agendas.”
Being affiliated with the BJP, Kangana’s remarks are consistent with her political stance. Her statement is a veiled accusation of betrayal against Diljit, claiming he is advancing a personal agenda.
What is the ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ controversy?
The controversy intensified with Hania Aamir’s inclusion in the film Sardaar Ji 3, especially at a time of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan.
This tension escalated after the Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22, which prompted India to launch Operation Sandhoor on May 7, targeting Pakistan and resulting in the loss of many innocent lives. In retaliation, Pakistan successfully struck Indian military installations.
During this period, India also launched a cultural crackdown, blocking social media accounts of Pakistani artists such as Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Ali Zafar, Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, and Hania Aamir.
Several Indian celebrities, including Javed Akhtar and Mika Singh, shared their views on the issue.
