Actress Laila Wasti once again thanked the German man who donated bone marrow to her during her blood cancer treatment many years ago while speaking in a live TV program.
Laila Wasti recently appeared in a morning show on Samaa TV along with actress Angeline Malik where both openly talked about their cancer journey.
During the program Laila Wasti shared that until a day before her cancer diagnosis in 2008 she was completely healthy and had no symptoms.
She said that at the time of diagnosis she was in the US. She suddenly fainted and was taken to a local community hospital where doctors told her that she had cancer and they could not treat her.
Later she was shifted by air ambulance to Johns Hopkins Hospital which is one of the best cancer hospitals in the world. There it was confirmed that she had blood cancer and it was already at an advanced stage.
Laila Wasti said that she herself signed her medical papers stating that if anything happened to her the hospital would not be responsible but luckily nothing happened to her.
She admitted that during treatment she got tired because of pain and even felt hopeless once but when she saw a child who had no leg she thanked God and asked for forgiveness.
She said that during the whole treatment she never felt that she would die because her faith in God was very strong.
The actress said that along with chemotherapy she also had surgeries but she was lucky to get more than one donor.
According to her sometimes people wait for years to find a donor but in her case 19 donors matched with her blood and all were willing to donate bone marrow.
She said that unfortunately none of her family members matched but a German man donated bone marrow to her.
During the program the actress emotionally thanked the German donor once again and called him her brother.
