Pakistani actress Mahira Khan shared her personal and frightening experience related to the recent rains and floods.
She said that while returning from Nathia Gali, she felt extremely scared and kept thinking that she might get caught in floods or a landslide at any moment.
Through an Instagram story, Mahira explained that on her way back from the tourist spot in Abbottabad, she repeatedly felt helpless.
According to her, she could not stop thinking about what would happen if a sudden landslide or flood hit her. At the same time, her thoughts kept going towards the thousands of people who are suffering these days because of heavy rains and flooding.
Mahira wrote that she now deeply understands how helpless people become in front of natural disasters. They try every moment to save their lives, homes, and loved ones, but often nothing remains in their control.
She also expressed sadness over the destruction caused by the recent rains and prayed for mercy and protection from God.
It is also worth mentioning that unusual heavy rains have caused destruction across the country these days. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan, floods and landslides have so far claimed the lives of more than 400 people. In Sindh, the rains have also created serious problems, and on August 19, heavy rainfall in Karachi caused urban flooding, leading to water entering homes in many areas.
