Famous Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has expressed sadness over the poor condition of Karachi. On Instagram, Mahira shared pictures of different areas of Karachi and wrote that sometimes she feels shocked when she looks at her city. Because of her work, she gets the chance to visit places she might never go to on her own. She said she saw streets and neighborhoods she had never seen before.
Mahira said that everyone lives in their own small world and has their own problems, but she saw areas in Karachi where people are always struggling. In those areas, there is no electricity for hours, people barely have food to eat, and garbage stays on the streets for weeks. The difference between rich and poor in this city is huge.
She added that even with all these problems, Karachi still has signs of hope and love. She saw children laughing and playing, mothers making fresh parathas for their sons, and men leaving home to earn a living.
Mahira also said that she saw a street in Karachi where a temple, a church, and a mosque shared the same wall. She noticed smiles on people’s faces that carried sadness but also hope.
In the end, Mahira expressed her love for her city and said she feels sorry that people have not taken care of Karachi the way the city has cared for them.
