A breakthrough has been made in the Rs 530 million bank fraud case of Atif Khan, husband of famous model and actress Nadia Hussain.
In the hearing held in the Sindh High Court, Atif Khan was granted bail against a bond of Rs 1 million.
During the hearing, Atif Khan’s lawyers had taken the position that their client’s direct role in the case had not been proven.
In addition, the interim bail of other people involved in the case has also been maintained.
Nadia Hussain’s husband was taken into custody by the FIA in March after a case of alleged embezzlement of crores of rupees and suspicious transactions came to light in a private bank.
Nadia Hussain’s husband was accused of misusing Rs 800 million of the bank and receiving Rs 654 million from a third party for personal business.
The matter became more interesting when it was alleged that some money was also transferred to Nadia Hussain’s account, for which the actress was also summoned by the FIA.
Nadia Hussain had taken the stand that everyone knows that I have no involvement in my husband’s case. I had also explained the reason for the money that had come to the FIA with full clarity.
There was also a time in this case when Nadia Hussain had accused the FI official of demanding a bribe.
The FIA said that the person demanding a bribe had simply pretended to be a DPA FI. He has no connection with the institution.
