A sweet and beautiful voice of Nepal has been lost forever. According to international media Nepali singer Neetu Poudel who once dreamed of a happy life has passed away after fighting for her life for several days.
On October 17 Neetu set herself on fire by pouring petrol in the studio of her close friend and musician Babul Giri.
She was taken to the hospital in serious condition with severe burns. Doctors tried their best to save her but she did not survive.
Doctors said that about 75 percent of her body was burned. Even after full medical care she passed away a week later.
Reports say Neetu had been in a relationship with musician and singer Babul Giri for seven years. They were close both personally and professionally.
Neetu also ran a coffee café under Babul’s music studio where many people from the music industry used to meet.
In the past few months they had disagreements about marriage.
Neetu’s close friends claimed that Babul was avoiding marriage because of his relationship with another woman.
Her brother Ghanesh Poudel filed a police case against Babul Giri and he has been called for questioning.
Police said the reason behind the suicide could be personal relationship problems betrayal and emotional stress. The investigation is still going on.
