Not every statement is meant as criticism – Atiqa Odho speaks in defense of her controversial remarks

Senior Pakistani TV and film actress Atiqa Odho has openly defended some of her controversial statements in a recent interview.

She spoke on a YouTube channel about the viral clips from her show Kya Drama Hai, where she made comments about arranged marriage and actor Ali Reza’s chest hair.

Atiqa explained that she made the statement during her show Kya Drama Hai, where she asked how two strangers feel when they get married. After that, many people messaged her on Instagram and shared their own problems. She said her comment was not meant in a negative way. It was just a natural curiosity about how two strangers suddenly become husband and wife overnight.

Speaking about the chest hair comment, Atiqa said that they usually discuss technical and creative topics on the show, but sometimes other things go viral. Her comment about Ali Reza’s chest hair became a trend, where she said that showing hairy chests of men on TV does not look appropriate. But this does not mean that they want to discourage new actors.

She added that senior artists are there to guide young talent. Ali Reza and other new actors are like children to them. If they say something, it is meant to give advice, not criticism. Sadly, social media turns everything into a drama.

Atiqa’s way of speaking was clear, direct, and graceful. She explained her views and also showed disappointment at the unnecessary reactions from media.
