Blind female cricketers from India and Pakistan have shown the true spirit of the game by shaking hands, defying recent political tensions.
Players from the two neighbouring countries have shown that despite their lack of sight, they have a vision unlike their regular national teams at the world’s first blind women’s T20 tournament in Sri Lanka, organisers said.
Tensions have been high between the nuclear-armed nations on and off the field since a deadly military clash in May.
Indian players refused to shake hands with Pakistani cricketers during the Men’s Asia Cup in September and the two teams have made no attempt to mend ties since then.
