Famous actor Faisal Quraishi revealed that he arranged a prayer gathering for late actresses Humaira Asghar Ali and Ayesha Khan under the artists’ organization ACT. But only 20 percent of the invited people attended.
He shared a video on the photo and video sharing app Instagram where he expressed his disappointment that most people did not come even though they had promised.
In the video Faisal said that when the gathering was announced many artists had promised to attend. But in the end only 20 percent showed up. Most others stayed active only on social media.
This gathering was organized by ACT Pakistan, a representative organization for people from the showbiz industry.
On the other hand, in a video shared on ACT Pakistan’s Instagram account, Hina Khawaja Bayat can be seen leading prayers for the forgiveness of the two late actresses and others. Arjumand Rahim, Omair Rana, Nadia Hussain, and a few other actors were also present at the event.
It is important to remember that after Humaira Asghar’s body was found and it was revealed that she had died nine months earlier, many people especially from the showbiz industry spoke about the need to stay in touch with each other.
Many celebrities also said that if any of their fellow artists were going through a hard time or feeling troubled, they could reach out and talk to them.
When news came that Humaira’s parents refused to accept her body, actress Sonya Hussyn and Yasir Hussain stepped forward to take responsibility for her burial. However, none of them were seen at the prayer gathering.
Because of this, social media users criticized the situation. They said that actors make emotional statements just to get likes and attention online, but in reality their actions are very different.
