Rani Mukerji’s statement that wives should shout at their husbands goes viral

Bollywood actress Rani Mukherjee has come under fire on social media for her remarks in a recent interview. Talking about gender norms and the home environment, Rani Mukherjee’s remarks have sparked a new debate among online users.

According to Hindustan Times, Rani Mukherjee said that children often adopt the same behavior that they see between their parents.

Rani Mukherjee said that the foundation of respect and honor is laid at home. If a child grows up seeing his mother being mistreated, he starts to understand that such behavior towards women is normal. According to her, it is the father’s responsibility to treat his wife with respect at home, because children learn from everyday scenes.

The actress said that if the mother is respected, then boys will also know that women should have an equal place in society.

During the same conversation, she also said that everything starts at home and even the father should not raise his voice at the mother, but in her words, “the mother should shout at the father”, which she called the right way. This sentence later became the most discussed on social media.

The actress also narrated an incident from her school days in which she said that once she had slapped a boy. On this occasion, she was also seen laughing and mentioning her husband Aditya Chopra and humorously said that she had slapped only one boy, all the others were her friends, along with this sentence that her husband should not be asked what happens at home every day.

These comments of Rani Mukerji were not liked by many social media users. Several people on Reddit and Instagram took her views seriously and said that perhaps the actress tried to present the matter in a humorous way, but there was nothing funny in it. According to some users, she kept laughing and giving the impression that she was making a strong point.

Some comments also raised the question of what basis such behavior can be called right and it was also said that just because you belong to an older generation does not mean that you should say something careless.

Others took the position that raising your voice should not be right in any relationship and that problems should be resolved calmly and gently. One comment said that whether it is a man or a woman, making shouting and screaming normal in a relationship is a strange idea, which should be seriously considered in society.
