Director Nadeem Baig revealed that actress Saima had refused to work in his recent drama Main Manto Nahin Hoon. Even after he requested her many times, she still did not agree. So, he asked her husband, filmmaker Syed Noor, for help.
The drama Main Manto Nahin Hoon stars many actors including Sajal Aly, Asif Raza Mir, Humayun Saeed, Saba Faisal, Usman Peerzada, and Sanam Saeed. Saima was also part of the cast. The drama started airing in mid-July and has received a lot of appreciation. Viewers are praising both the actors and their characters.
In the drama, Saima played the role of Sajal Aly’s aunt and Asif Raza Mir’s sister. Her acting was also praised by the audience.
Recently, director Nadeem Baig gave an interview to journalist Maliha Rehman. He talked about casting Saima Khan in the drama. He said that Saima is a very professional actress. She does not waste time talking on the set, has no attitude, and always arrives on time.
He also said that during shooting, Saima only took a break when she had to pray, and she would pray right there on the set. She never needed to be told what to do. She always came prepared according to her role and, most importantly, remembered all her script lines.
Nadeem Baig shared that Saima even memorized long dialogues of four pages and performed her scenes without any retakes.
He said that when he offered the role to Saima, she refused. He kept calling her again and again to request her, but she kept saying no. He really wanted only her for the role because he admired her acting since his youth when he used to watch her films.
In the end, he asked her husband, Syed Noor, to convince her. She finally agreed to do the drama at her husband’s request.
