Sarah Khan breaks silence on her viral feminism statement

Sarah, who recently received praise for her role as Dr. Fajar in the drama serial Sher, gave an interview a few weeks ago where she shared her views on feminism. After that, she was heavily trolled online.

In that interview, Sarah said that she does not consider herself a big feminist. According to her, men should be given the position that is made for them, so that women can live peacefully.

She also said that she prefers staying at home and wants men to behave like men. Sarah added that, unlike some other feminist women, she cannot stand in line to pay bills.

After this, many people criticized her, including Reham Khan, who not only targeted Sarah but also dragged her daughter into the matter.

At that time, Sarah chose to stay silent, but her sister and actress Noor Zafar responded strongly to Reham Khan in her defense.

Now, although the matter had calmed down, Sarah once again brought it back by sharing a long note on Instagram to explain her statement.

In her message, Sarah clarified that her idea of feminism is different from others.

She wrote that when she says she is not a feminist, it does not mean she does not believe in equality. She fully supports equal respect, equal rights, and equal opportunities for women.

She added that she does not support the modern kind of feminism. She considers herself a true feminist, someone who believes that a woman’s strength is not in copying men, but in embracing her natural femininity.

Sarah Khan continued her message and wrote that she believes women are so powerful that they should be given respect, love, and importance like a queen. A woman is not made to work like a machine. She is made to build homes, raise generations, and lead with grace and dignity.

She gave the example of Hazrat Khadija (RA) and said that she was a successful businesswoman, yet she was a perfect example of grace, balance, and femininity. She had the right to work, and so do we. But she always gave priority to family, purpose, faith, and dignity, and never lost her identity while chasing approval from the world.

Sarah made her point more clear and said that she does not understand why going to an office early in the morning to fulfill someone else’s dreams is seen as a proud thing, but making breakfast for your husband or raising your kids is looked down upon. Since when did being a loyal wife or a mother become less important?

Talking about the value of women, she wrote that a woman’s role is a sacred duty. She can be educated, strong, and have big goals, but at the same time, she can be gentle, graceful, and connected to her roots. She does not need to choose just one thing. She can create her own balance in life.

Sarah ended her long note by saying that feminism should not mean giving up on femininity. It should mean respecting our choices, even if that choice is home, being a mother, softness, and strength wrapped in love. This is a divine power. Let’s not trade it for an idea of power that takes us away from who we really are.

On the other hand, many people on social media are liking Sarah Khan’s message. Many women are also supporting her point that women should be the queens of their homes, while men should take the responsibility of earning for the family.
