{يَا أَيَّتُهَا النَّفْسُ الْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ، ارْجِعِي إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَّرْضِيَّةً، فَادْخُلِي فِي عِبَادِي، وَادْخُلِي جَنَّتِي}

With a verse from the Quran, Prince Khalid bin Talal wrote that with faithful hearts and full belief in Allah’s will and decisions, they are mourning the loss of their beloved son, Prince Al-Waleed bin Khalid bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who passed away today. He also prayed for Allah’s mercy on him.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the Royal Court also announced the death of Prince Al-Waleed. The statement said that his funeral prayer will be held on July 20 in Riyadh after Asr prayer at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque.
Media reports say that Prince Al-Waleed suffered a brain hemorrhage and internal bleeding in 2005 at the age of just 15, due to a serious accident.
After the tragic accident, he was put on a ventilator in the hospital and never regained full consciousness.
At the time of the accident, Prince Al-Waleed was studying at a military college in London. After the incident, he was moved to King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh, where he stayed in a coma for many years.
His father never gave up hope that his son would recover. He remained fully involved in his care and strongly rejected any suggestions to remove life support.
During all these years, Prince Al-Waleed was kept under medical care. Sometimes, small body movements were noticed, but he never fully woke up.
After the news of his death, the hashtag Sleeping Prince started trending on social media, and thousands of people shared their condolences and sorrow.
