Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty is being named in another controversy and there are concerns that she is in another predicament, as a minor dispute that took place late at night in her famous pub in Bangalore has become quite serious after going viral on social media, and the police have taken notice of the incident and started an investigation.
According to Indian media reports, Shilpa Shetty is the co-owner of the said pub, and the incident in Bangalore allegedly took place at around 1:30 am on December 11 at the restaurant and pub Bastion located on St. Mark’s Road. In the CCTV footage circulating on social media, it can be seen that a group of people inside the pub are having a loud argument, where the atmosphere appears to be very tense.
The report said that the commotion started with a minor dispute over the payment of a bill, and the routine payment allegedly turned into an argument between the customers. When the situation deteriorated, the pub staff intervened and tried to calm the situation down and restore order.
Indian media reported that businessman Satya Naidu, who was a contestant on the former Bigg Boss and is the ex-husband of a TV anchor, is also seen in the viral videos. His presence further increased the chatter on social media and the incident became the center of attention of citizens.
Satya Naidu, responding to the allegations, denied any misconduct or wrongdoing in the incident and said that he had only gone to the pub with friends for food, and the dispute arose only during the payment of the bill and clarified that there was no scuffle during that time.
Is Shilpa Shetty directly involved in the incident?
According to the media, Shilpa Shetty is not seen in the footage and was not present at the time of the incident, but she had started this restaurant in partnership with Ranjit Bindra, the owner of famous restaurants and founder of the Bastian brand, in 2019.
It was further reported that although her name is being discussed in the media due to being a co-owner of the establishment, the actress has not yet responded to her name being mentioned in this incident.
Indian media reported that the Deputy Commissioner of Police of the Central Division has confirmed the incident.
He said that the police, taking suo motu notice of the incident, have summoned the people involved in the incident for investigation and the CCTV footage and statements of the concerned persons are being reviewed. If any serious crime is revealed during the investigation, a formal case will be registered.
Indian media said that the matter is currently under investigation by the police, however, this incident, which has gone viral on social media, has once again made it clear how a minor altercation late at night, and especially when the matter is related to a celebrity’s restaurant, can turn into a public controversy in a matter of moments.
