Famous Bollywood actors Shreyas Talpade and Alok Nath have been accused of being involved in a major financial fraud case.
According to Indian media reports the case has been filed in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The actors are accused of using investors’ money for personal use after promising them high profits.
Reports say that people involved in this scheme attracted the public by offering big returns and convinced them to invest their money. When the payments stopped and the money disappeared the fraud was exposed and state investigation agencies started their inquiry.
Sources said that the involvement of well known actors in the case has caused concern among the public. Many are asking how such fraud networks have spread so much that even famous artists are part of them and people invest money because they trust these celebrities.
According to the Uttar Pradesh police spokesperson both Shreyas Talpade and Alok Nath are being investigated and all accused will face legal action.
So far neither Shreyas Talpade nor Alok Nath has given any statement but their lawyers are expected to respond soon.
