Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah paid tribute to artists on World Artists Day. In his message, he said that artists give voice to the emotions of society through their art and without them history and culture cannot be imagined.
He said that the Sindh government is taking strong steps for the welfare of artists and the promotion of art. The establishment of Aror University of Art and Culture is a great example of this. The Culture Department is always active in supporting artists.
He added that with the support of the Sindh government the Arts Council Karachi will soon hold the World Cultural Festival where artists from 141 countries will take part. It will be the world’s largest festival celebrating and honoring artists at a global level.
Provincial Minister for Culture and Tourism Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah also paid tribute to artists and said that artists are the pride of the nation and guardians of culture.
He said that Sindh’s culture spreads the message of love peace and harmony and serving artists means serving culture. He also said that bringing art and culture to the younger generation is the need of the time.
