Many guesses were being made on social media about the relationship between Sajal Aly and Humayun Saeed’s characters in the drama Mein Manto Nahin Hoon. Now, Sajal Aly has shared some clarification.
She recently appeared on Hasan Choudhry’s show where she talked openly on various topics.
The drama Mein Manto Nahin Hoon is airing on ARY Digital. It is written by Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar and directed by Nadeem Baig.
The cast includes many well-known stars such as Humayun Saeed, Sajal Aly, Saima Noor, Asif Raza Mir, Sanam Saeed, and others.
When the teasers were released, many viewers assumed that the drama would show a romantic relationship between Humayun Saeed and Sajal Aly. Based on this, some people even criticized it.
However, in the episodes shown so far, no romantic angle has been presented. Instead, their relationship is shown as a teacher and student.
In an interview, Sajal said that Humayun Saeed is a respected actor and has earned great respect in the industry.
She shared that she really enjoyed working with him because he is a very kind and gentle person.
When asked about the romantic link between their characters, Sajal did not clearly confirm anything. But she hinted that even during shooting, she was confused about whether there was a romantic element between them or not.
She said she would often ask the director Nadeem Baig about her and Humayun Saeed’s relationship in the story — whether it was romance or something else — but he would simply reply that what is happening is what it is.
Sajal added that viewers will really enjoy watching Mein Manto Nahin Hoon because the drama includes all the key elements.
She also said that she is watching the drama with interest just like the audience, as she only focused on her own role and doesn’t know much about the other characters.
