Why did Musarrat Misbah’s marriage at the age of 18 not last long?

Pakistan’s well-known beautician, businesswoman, and social worker Musarrat Misbah recently opened up in a show about her marriage and separation.

Famous for her work in supporting acid attack survivors and other welfare causes, Musarrat shared that she got married at the age of 18, but the marriage did not last long.

She said she had never spoken publicly about her divorce before, but after consulting a religious scholar, she realized that sharing her story could give strength to other women facing similar situations.

The scholar told her that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) also discussed his family matters to guide people, which encouraged her to speak openly about her personal life to help women suffering from domestic violence.

Musarrat shared that she came from a family where women were not even allowed to speak loudly. After marriage, she faced fear and domestic abuse, which led her to end the marriage for the sake of her children. During that difficult time, her father and family fully supported her.

She also revealed in the past that her husband used to pull her by the hair during violent acts, so she decided to cut her hair short to protect herself from his abuse.
