Famous actress Alizeh Shah has said that she stopped working in the industry because she wasn’t paid on time and wasn’t treated with respect. She also said that some producers want her to leave the industry.
Through several Instagram story videos, Alizeh shared her feelings with fans. She said she is tired and now wants to expose everyone who treated her badly. She said she will not stay silent anymore. People troll her, make fun of her, and create memes about her, and she is fed up.
She told people that they have no idea how hard an actor’s life is. She said they receive their payments for dramas after three months, and they have to beg for the money they earned. When they finally get paid, it feels like someone is doing them a favor.
This is the biggest reason why she stopped working.
Alizeh said when she told people that she needs money to manage her household, the reply she got was that they are already helping her enough by giving her a drama in a big production. She said these people act like they are doing a favor.
She added that people paid social media pages to make memes about her after she asked for her payment. She was trolled so much that when she went to meetings, directors would say they had heard many stories about her.
These directors would say her image is bad and ask why they should cast her. She questioned who gave them the right to judge her image and said if that’s how they feel, why call her for a meeting just to insult her?
She said later, those same people act like giving her work is some big favor, like she has done something wrong. She pointed out that many actresses in the industry wear sleeveless and off-shoulder dresses, and in Pakistani films, actresses wear tank tops now.
She clearly said, do not treat me like you’re doing me a favor by giving me work. I only want respect and timely payment. If you can’t give that, then you are the real beggar in this industry.
Speaking to producers, she said that they are building palaces by eating up actors’ payments. One day, all this will fall. You can keep this kind of success. I will only work when I get respect.
People say I have a lot of issues, she continued. We spend all day in makeup rooms wearing hair extensions, sometimes without air conditioning or clean bathrooms. I only asked for a separate room once a year because I smoke and didn’t want to bother anyone else with my habit.
She said she never stopped anyone from coming to her room. In fact, other people used to smoke there too, and no one had a problem then. But now some producers want her to leave the industry. She said she doesn’t mind because her life is going well.
She added that she has loving people around her and doesn’t need work to survive. She works only because she wants to give her family the life she never had in childhood. She believes Allah always shows a way, but for her, respect has always been more important than anything else. Every artist, even juniors, deserves respect. Just because someone is senior does not mean they can block someone’s work or income.
