Renowned actor, director and host Yasir Hussain has blamed India as a major reason for the decline in the quality of Pakistani drama industry.
The actor recently appeared on a private TV show, during which he openly discussed the decline of Pakistani dramas.
Yasir Hussain says that the biggest difference between Pakistani and Indian dramas is the audience, which affects the quality of the content. Most Indian viewers watch crappy (low-quality) content, while Pakistani viewers are relatively knowledgeable.
He said that in the past, the quality of Pakistani dramas was very high, but when these dramas started becoming popular in India, their quality started declining. Our drama makers started making content keeping the Indian market in mind, which led to a change in the stories and quality.
According to Yasir Hussain, Indian viewers started watching Pakistani dramas because of their class and quality, but instead of bringing them up to our standards, we ourselves came down and started making content according to them.
His statement is drawing different opinions on social media, with some users agreeing with him while others disagree with his stance.
