Actor Zahid Ahmed strongly criticized the reality show Lazawal Ishq, saying that it promotes vulgarity and is based on a dangerous mindset and agenda.
He recently appeared on Ahmad Ali Butt’s podcast, where he expressed his strong reaction to the show.
Zahid said that he cannot support any show or idea that promotes vulgarity in any form.
He explained that he had doubts about the show since the day it was announced. He tried to find out who produced it, but no one seems to know about the production team.
He also said that he could not ask the host, Ayesha Omar, about it because he does not see the show in a positive way and does not know her personally.
According to Zahid, he is more interested in knowing the producer behind the show because that person must be aware that the content goes against Pakistan’s social and religious values.
He said the producer purposely avoided airing the show on television to escape PEMRA’s regulations and instead released it on YouTube. However, by including Pakistani hosts and participants, the show was given a Pakistani identity.
Zahid added that the producer used Pakistan’s name to present content that carries a dangerous agenda and message to the world.
He said he feels satisfied that the show is facing criticism and backlash from viewers.
It is important to mention that the first episode of Lazawal Ishq was released on YouTube on September 29. The show has received heavy criticism, with many viewers accusing it of spreading vulgarity in an Islamic country.
The show is hosted by actress Ayesha Omar, who claims that it is not a dating show.
However, after the teaser and trailer were released, people demanded a ban on it. PEMRA later clarified that since the show is aired on YouTube, it does not fall under their control or regulations.
