RAWALPINDI: Film and television artist Atiqa Odho has honorably acquitted of two bottles of liquor.
About Atiqa Odho
Atiqa Odho is a beauty queen Pakistani television and film actress, television host. And the name sake of her own founded cosmetics brand Odho cosmetics. She was arrest in 2011 for exporting and drinking alcohol. She was release on 21 August 2020.
Pakistan is an Islamic Republic and drinking or selling any other business relate to alcohol is not allow in Islam. She debute in “Anwar Maqsood’s” TV series. She is famous “Sitara and Mehrunnisa” and then appeared in dramas like “Dasht”, “Nijaat”, “Harjae”. Most recently in “Humsafar”. She later starred in a string of films, including “Jo dar gaya voh mar gaya”, “Mummy” and “Mujhay chand chahiye”.
A civil case was hear in Rawalpindi Civil Court against actress Atiqa Odho. The civil court, after delivering its verdict after 9 years, 2 months and 14 days. Honorably acquitted Atiqa Odho in 2 bottles of liquor case.
The court rule that there is no evidence against the artist, so she acquit. Civil Judge Yasir Chaudhry ruled on the merits.
It was alleged that two bottles of liquor is find in her bag on her way to Karachi from Islamabad. Airport police had registered a case against the actress on June 7, 2011. On the orders of former Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry’s Sumoto. The case had 210 appearance and 16 judges were change.
She said in a statement after the court’s verdict that justice was serve late.
