Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha’s wedding was nothing less than a fairytale. Sahil Sangha chose a horse drawn carriage to arrive in style wearing a white colored sherwani. The farmhouse where the duo got married was decorated with lilies and orchids. The lavish spread laid out for the guests to feast on had a distinct Hyderabadi flavor. For the desserts however it was Bengali sweets all the way.
Many Bollywood celebs congratulated Dia and Sahil for embarking on a new journey of life.
Ritu Kumar designed a traditional joda for Dia Mirza’s wedding. The style dated back to the Mughal era and was contemporaries in style but in essence has kept the embroidery tradition of the old zardozi craftsmanship. The ensemble comprised of a kurta, Farshi paijama and a dupatta. The upper half or paat of the paijama was made of gold net and lined with tanchoi silk brocade and the lower half or gote was made of green and turq stripes of patched silk sewn together diagonally. The elaborate borders placed on both the paat and the gote seams are finished in a style typical of the Hyderabadi court a city which Dia has lived in for many years. The dupatta has been embroidered by master craftsmen with a lineage from the Avadh court. The kurta was decorated with zardozia round the neckline. A similar design was embroidered on the ground of the second emerald green dupatta in alternate rows of curling vines and stylized floral motifs. The main dupatta had a special motif embroidered on the part that covers the hair.
The couple opted for a close knit mehndi ceremony at a Chattarpur farmhouse in Delhi on October 17th. Dia Mirza looked ravishing in a purple and golden colored Anita Dongre lehenga. She paired it up with matching jewelry. Sahil too rocked the look with abandhgala coat.

The neck is deep and worked in embroidered gota patti on net like the technique used at the time. The gold metallic taar used is of silver worked in gold thread and dori to give it a stylised plant inlay look. Each panel is highlighted with a flowering buta. Theodhni is fuschia worked with small butis of the same beaten gold gota patti, a fuschia brocade deep sinjaf finishes the edges of the outfit.”
