Inayat Hussain Bhatti was Pakistan’s first male singer, who got success as playback singer. His first film Pheray (1949) was first ever super hit musical film in Pakistan and Bhatti sahib’s two songs were mega hit in this film. According to the latest complete songography, Bhatti sahib sang almost 350 songs in 200 movies from 1949-90.

Inayat Hussain Bhatti also appeared in 55 movies in main roles and in 9 movies as supporting or guest artist. His first film was Bheegi Palken (1952) and as hero Jallan(1955).

Inayat Hussain Bhatti established Bhatti Pictures and produced and distributed many movies. He was producer, director and hero of first Siraiki film Dhian Nimania (1973) and directed another film Sadqay Teri Mout Tun (1977). He was also owner of Bhatti Theatreand performed in various festivals in Punjab in the 1960s. He also wrote articles in newspapers and was a famous Zakar. He was also a social worker and contested election in 1985 but failed. He was very active to promote Punjabi language.

Bhatti’s sahib had a big film-family. His brother Kaifee was a successful film director and actor. His son Waseem Abbas is still a big name in TV acting and also appeared in few movies. His son Nadeem Abbas Bhatti was producer of most of his movies and acted in a film. His brother Shujaat Hussain Bhatti was seen in a film. His relative S.A. Ashrafi was famous film director. Famous actresses Ghazala and Chakoriwere married to his brother Kaifee.

Inayat Hussain Bhatti was born on January 12, 1928 in Gujrat and died on May 31, 1999.
